Over the 4th of July weekend we got to have Aaron's mom come and visit. We drove to Carthage and then to Nauvoo. We got to go to the Temple (which was absolutely goreous!!), see demonstrations on how they used to make rope, candles, bread, clothes, wagon wheels and horse shoes, we also saw a cute play for the kids (complete with a puppet show), a video about Nauvoo, and we stayed in a hotel built in 1840!
We drove home on Saturday and had a BBQ with friends and then (thanks to Vicki) we got to go on a date!! Not a bad weekend. :)
Oooh, fun. All that area is gorgeous isn't it? I'm a bit jealous of all the green and the rain in your pictures! John and I visited Nauvoo and Carthage when we were newly married. Someday we'll take our kids....
